Dineega Specialty Furs

Custom Sea Otter, Seal, and Sea Lion fur clothing and art by Diana Riedel

Diana Riedel

Hello, my name is Diana Riedel. I am Eyak, Athabascan, Inupiaq, and Alutiiq from Cordova Alaska. My mom started teaching me to sew furs at a young age and I loved being able to create clothing from a sustainable, plentiful, and local renewable resource. After I finished an apprenticeship with my mom, Monica Riedel, who is a master skin sewer and parka maker, I went and studied at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I studied under Alvin Amason in Alaska Native Art studio and learned carving, caribou tufting, beading, basket weaving, and painting. I graduated with my BA in rural development and now reside back in my home town of Cordova with my husband Kenny and daughters Kiley, and Elora Rae. I custom make all the products for Dineega Furs and occasionally still go out commercial fishing in the summer. Thank you for looking at my art and please contact me if you have any questions.
